My 3 year old Ugg boots have just about had it so over the past couple of weeks I’ve been looking for the cheapest way to replace them. I bought them online at a huge discount from a ‘reputable retailer’ but I was never convinced of their authenticity. The quality was great and the fact they’ve lasted his long after what I’ve put them through I don’t care if they are real or not but because of this I’m now prepared to stump up the cash and pay full retail. That being said I’m never one to purchase the first of anything I see, I’m a bargain hunter and if there’s a better deal to be had I will find it. While looking online I found Minnetonka Moccasins, a brand made popular by a huge celeb following a few years ago. Moccasins may not immediately scream ‘Ugg Replacements’ but they actually do a couple of snow boots styles that would fit the bill and are slightly lower in cost. Another bonus is the reinforced toe and heel which isn’t standard on the Uggs, there are newer styles with this option but mine don’t have it. Anyway.. on to the point of this post, DEAL ALERT! I saw the boots pictured last week and was umming and ahhing over a purchase for my birthday.. only for them to be reduced massively a few days later! They dropped from £179.00 to £107.00 which although is still pretty expensive it’s half the cost of the tall Uggs (£200) and I’m a little bit in love with the cozy accents and cuff detail.
The knee high Minnetonka which would be the closest to the classic tall Ugg is still full price but I’m also really liking this fringed style.. they would look super cute with black leggings and lets face it, here in the UK it’s almost always boots weather so it’s not like I wouldn’t get wear out of them.. they’re just a little different to your regular shearling’s.
Although we didn’t manage to book our New York trip this Winter (sad face) I’m hoping that next Winter we will be back and a pair of warm boots are essential for that trip so it’s a sensible purchase, right? They’re a genuine necessity!! Ok now will someone please tell my husband that, hehe.
