About

IMG_2510
As a young Mum I haven’t always had the money to spend on high end products and hate to spend more than I have to for the cosmetics I love. I’ve sampled so many brands over the years to find the bargain items that are just as good as those found at the beauty hall and because of this I think I can help you decide what’s worth spending your money on and where you can pinch the pennies. Over the years I have expanded to reviewing brands both budget and not so however all reviews are from the perspective of someone who’d rather spend her cash on handbags than expensive foundation. That being said we all love a fancy lipstick from time to time, don’t we 😉

I’ve been featured in various places over the past 5 years – you can find more about that here, I was also awarded Best Established Beauty Blog at The Cosmo Blog Awards 2014
I have three YouTube channels encompassing my love of beauty, my daily life and my shopaholism – there are at least 5 videos per week so there’s always something new be it there or here on my blog where I post daily. I also write a lifestyle blog and create (hopefully) fun videos with my friend Emma over at styleontoast.com

  1. Hi Miss Budget Beauty!

How are you? Just been reading your blog and love it! Wanted to introduce myself I thought you might be interested in Market Force’s mystery shopping programme… with clients like Zara, Jack Wills, Dominos and JD Wetherspoon, you can quite literally get paid to shop, which is a great money saving tip for young people struggling to economise during tough times. Obviously I’m thinking of it from the fashion perspective with your blog in mind.

In terms of the process, mystery shoppers need to sign up online and indicate the type of assignments they are interested in. You can read more about it here: http://uk.marketforce.com/become-a-mystery-shopper/ Following registration you’ll be able to log in and view available assignments, including details on the fee/reimbursement on offer and exactly what the assignment entails, then ‘claim’ ones you are interested in completing. Once you’ve done this you are agreeing to complete it in the specified timeframe, etc.

The assignment itself varies depending on the outlet and what it is trying to assess via the mystery shop. When completing the assignments you usually have to submit your answers a series of questions online. Sometimes you may also be required to submit a photo you’ve been asked to take! You also submit your receipt for reimbursement, which can be done electronically so no faffing around with postage is required.

The thing I love about mystery shopping is that it’s a covert operation – something I think you can use to give the piece a fun and unique angle. You have to pose as a real customer and ensure the person/people serving you do not suspect you are on an assignment! Think 007 let loose in Zara 😉

If you would like more information, or to discuss trying out a shopping assignment yourself to see how it works, please do let me know.

    Best wishes,
    Tallulah
